- Discussed people's strong and weak points, identifying where people would grow and also how comfortable people are doing certain tasks.
- Chose group representatives, group leader being me (Luke Moorhead) and Mimi as Treasurer.
- Developed ideas towards research proposals, design development and suggested material/techniques.
- Set the date of each weekly meeting which will be on Wednesdays, 12:30pm at Lime Grove canteen. (we can also join the girls in their embroidery class if we wish).
Tasks for next week: Due, 19/1/2011
- Research American Indian imagery, shape/techniques/embroidery.
- Research Hungarian embroidery techniques, wedding headdresses and traditional garments.
- Research into Totem Poles, Shaman imagery.
- Try to think of images within our embroidery that could bring our collection into the modern times. Use symbolism, todays society.
- Go to charity shops and buy at least ONE blanket that we can cut up and use within next Thursdays pattern class.
- Collect fabric samples, yarn, beads etc.
Don't forget, first hand research is better and so much more fun! The V&A, Natural History Museum and the World around us!
